Our principle activity is providing Torque Measurement Solutions, engaging the needs of our customers in a variety of different environments including heavy industry, motor sport, marine, power generation, heavy vehicles, agriculture and industrial tools.

Focus Marine
We have been manufacturing our on torque and strain sensors and systems since 1991 for a number of industries including the marine market. The shipping market is a highly competitive industry that is sensitive towards changes in conditions that are outside of their control. Government legislation, environmental considerations and rising oil prices all have a huge impact on the industry and companies associated with that industry.
Datum Electronics have a number of solutions that can be applied to a ships propulsion system to monitor performance. We can provide data measurement analysis of Shaft Power, Shaft Torque, Shaft Speed, Shaft Vibration, Shaft Temperature, and Shaft Alignment on ship shafts between 90mm – 1200mm+ in diameter.
We have supplied and continue to support marine systems to the UK Ministry of Defence. The result is a proven technology meeting the requirements of some of the most stringent tests in the industry giving effective and reliable transmission data. We have supplied Marine systems for 15 off Hunt and Sandown Class Ships. This system; specially developed for the Minehunters has been fully tested and approved for the MOD during late 2005 early 2006 and meets all current environmental, EMC requirements (above decks) and magnetic ranging requirements.
